Now that phase one has been completed we are working hard to get funding for the second phase of ‘Mama Africa’.
This will include the work of 11 other local artists along with artwork from 5 other artists from sub-Saharan Africa. We have chosen 4 countries where Mitochondrial Eve might have come from in Africa. These countries are Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia and Djibouti.
The artwork will be fixed to the brick flank walls of the bridge and will represent the start and the end of the timeline which is represented by the bridge crossing.
